Garret Brown

Garret grew up on a family farm in northeastern North Dakota. He attended North Dakota State University where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Agribusiness. For 3 years he worked with a local grain and agronomy company in North Dakota as a grain originator for their 5 country elevators and shuttle facility where his focus was to expand the origination base through providing personal customer service to the cooperative patrons. From 2015 to mid-2016 he transitioned into the ethanol industry as a merchandiser for an producer. Here he oversaw managing logistical inflows and outflows of the products and the risk management associated with those products. Garret left the ethanol industry to start Grand Vale Trading Company LLC where he provided advisement to producers in managing their cash grain positions. In 2020, Garret transitioned the business to a new name, CODAK Risk Advisory, LLC. His association with Lakefront Futures and Options as a branch office enables him to provide hedging services to clients. His desire to help educate farmers and execute a strategy that works for them was what drove him to start CODAK Risk Advisory.

Alex Andel

Alex grew up in Valley City, North Dakota. After graduating from North Dakota State University with a degree in Agriculture Economics in May 2015, he worked as a grain originator for CHS South Central in Napoleon, North Dakota. There, he was responsible for originating grain for four locations, shuttle logistics, and grain sales to provide the best bids to the producer. In October 2017, he moved back to Valley City where he started working for Columbia Grain as the assistant manager and grain merchandiser. He was responsible for grain buying and assisted with logistics for incoming and outgoing commodities. In December 2020, Alex joined CODAK Risk Advisory to provide premier market advising services to farmers.

 

Casey Christianson

Casey grew up in Cavalier, North Dakota. In 2016, he attended North Dakota State University and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Statistics with a minor in Mathematics at the end of 2019. After graduation, Casey began working in IT for a local bank in Fargo. In 2022, he transitioned to the credit department where he began analyzing loan risk. In April of 2023, he started with CODAK Risk Advisory as a market advisor trainee. Casey and his wife, along with their two little boys currently reside in West Fargo, ND. Outside of work, Casey enjoys being a dad, involvement in his church community, and going disc golfing.
